Relationship in science
Relationship as an essential part of human nature is a subject of interest for many sciences — sociology, psychology, philosophy etc. Sociologists divide all types of relationship into several groups:
- social — the most common group that includes all types of relationship between individuals or groups;
- interpersonal — a strong bound between people that is based on feelings, shared interests, solidarity etc.;
- intimate, characterized by very strong intimacy and of the sexual relationship;
- ethical, with a main focus on trust and honesty.
While sociology is focused on describing types and forms of relationship, psychology takes care about people feelings about it and finding ways to save, stop or prevent the creation of bounds between two people. Modern psychology even describes many disorders based on lack of attention which we usually get in relationship.
In some countries relationship education is very popular. Couches train people to save and take care of their social connections, find words and inner power to stop the relationship if it is needed with the less possible harm or to restore bounds which have been broken because of mistake.
