“Lam Nguyen paints in a very distinctive style and a has classic Fauve. Technique partyculary in his focus on a flat perspective and the use of light to create mood.
Lam Nguyen uses a black background on all of his canvases then sketches in chalk on the back background before painting, Lam explained that using a black background before painting gives his painting more depth. In the early days of his career Lam did some copy painting before he developed his uique style which is a combination of Fauvism and Expressionism. He mentions that Cezanne, Van Gogh, Picasso and Henri Matisse have greatly influenced his art.
His art works in private collecctions in America, England, France, Germany, Belgium, Singapore, Japan, South Korea and Hong Kong. . .”
