Expressive Artist

Born in Paris in 1962, Philippe Mendel started to paint as a child and has always been trying to discover different styles and materials.

He won his first price when he was 16 years old, and never stopped creating.

He settled down in 1998 in Germany and opened his own gallery in 2002 in the center of a rather small town, Müllheim, not far from France and Switzerland.

He made quite a few exhibitions in France, Germany, Switzerland and Poland, in such cities as St Paul de Vence, Mulhouse, Colmar, Francfort, Düsseldorf, Freiburg, Sylt, Solothurn, Basel, Stettin.

He likes to paint portraits, the sea and villages from south of France, but always tries to "reconstruct" his themes according to his creative impulse. 

He's the father of four children and loves to paint with pupils in different schools where he regularly works as a project manager.

Philippe Mendel's dream, now, is to go back to New York where he went to about 20 years ago and show his works there.
