Her life was linked with creativity since early years by writing, creating collages and directing. Irena decided to devote herself to performance art.
She creates collages using only vintage magazines from 50-70 years. Collages essentially are hand made using only scissors, glue, photos and artist’s creativity. Sharp and provocative topics are the basis of collages’ meaning. Each creation has its own story, because they speak with the audience, almost like a movie. But in this case viewer is the director, because artist allows him to decide the fate of the collage’s characters. Modern tragedies and social problems are depicted with symbolic language. The artist is telling the stories of those who exist under this influence and those who suffer from it.
Collage is mortal, like us.
